Become a Substitute Teacher

Interested in becoming a substitute teacher in San Juan School District? Follow these steps:

• Visit the school(s) you would like to sub in and complete the required paper-work packet they will provide.
• Schedule an appointment with the Human Resource office to complete a background check (which includes a digital  fingerprinting process) and turn in paper-work packet items. The current fee for this background check is $20.00
• When everything checks out, the Human Resource office will contact the school(s) via email

Please note, the background check results can take anywhere from three days to three weeks; you will not be able to substitute until results are in and you have been entered into the appropriate district applications.
