What is an Academic Portfolio (ePortfolio)?
The learning theory behind ePortfolios: ePortfolios generate learning because they provide an opportunity and virtual space for students to critically assess their academic work, to reflect on that work, and make connections among different courses, assignments, and other activities, such as work experience, extracurricular pursuits, volunteering opportunities, and more. ePortfolios are effective learning tools because they support students’ own knowledge construction, make otherwise invisible aspects of the learning process visible, and place agency in the hands of students, which fosters learners’ motivation.

How to Login as a student:
1. Select “Get started”
2. Class Link/Sign up (top right corner)
3. Continue with Email: School Email
4. Create a Design
5. Create a folder for Self-Awareness 2023-2024:
a) From the homepage side panel, click Projects.
b) Click on the plus icon from the upper corner of the page.
c) Select Folder.
d) Give your folder a name. You can also choose to share it with your team or class (for Canva for Education users).
c) Click Create folder to finish.
*When you are finished creating your Canva website, make sure to always download it as JPG file type. Your website will be saved under your downloads on your computer.
*Note: This folder is where you will save your Self-Awareness Lessons for each month. Additionally, create separate folders for each academic subject, where you can save your assignments into your Academic Portfolio.

How to login as an Educator:
1. Open the Canva for Education sign up page.
2. If you can, sign up for Canva for Education with a verified educational email domain. You can also sign up with your school or district’s Clever, Microsoft, or Google account.
3. Follow the sign up prompts.
4. After signing up, select that you are a Teacher.
5. Click Get verified.
6. If you signed up with a verified educational email domain, you’ll get access right away – congratulations!
7. If you don’t have an educational email domain, no problem. Just upload a photo or scanned copy of an approved document, and we’ll review your application within 48 hours.
