Thanks for getting your kiddos here! Because of this, we are giving each student $10 toward the book fair. Also, we are telling students they cannot ask or give anyone else money for the book fair. The book fair will be opened until Friday, October 2nd.

San Juan School District schools will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow.
Some students live in areas that continue to be affected by flooding, mud, and impassable roads. Parents of students who are unable to travel safely to school should notify their school's building administrator. These absences will be excused, and students will be provided opportunities to make up missed work
Dear Parents and Families,
We are very grateful for those who made it to CCR day last Tuesday. We understand that people who did not show up might have had to work or simply could not get there that day so we are giving everyone a chance to visit with their child's teacher before we do our drawing. We have 4 sheepherder baskets and one sheep we will be giving away as a thank you for making time to support your child/ren's education. The drawing will be on Tuesday right before school ends so if you want your name in there it's not too late! Please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible to get yourself in the drawing!

Due to heavy rain, muddy conditions, and flooded roads, schools in Bluff, Montezuma Creek, and Monument Valley will be closed on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Students who reside in or around these communities and travel to schools in Blanding will be excused from attendance tomorrow due to unsafe travel conditions.
School bus routes serving Bluff, Montezuma Creek, Monument Valley, and surrounding areas, including routes that transport students to Blanding schools, will not operate tomorrow due to road conditions.
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.

The San Juan School District will implement a new check-in and check-out procedure known as the Visitor Management System. This system is designed to screen all visitors, parents, and guests to enhance school safety. It also enables schools to maintain a secure and organized environment for students and staff. Bluff Elementary School will pilot the Visitor Management System beginning March 23, 2026. When checking in or checking out a student, parents and guardians will be required to scan a government-issued identification card, such as a driver's license. Visitors to the school will follow the same procedure and will be issued a visitor badge. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in this process.

BLuff Elementary School is in session today on this Friday. The buses are able to pick up students. Weather is more severe in Monticello and Blanding areas. If there are any concerns from families about the weather conditions in their area, please call the school.

Bluff Elementary STAR GAZING PARTY scheduled for Tuesday 3/18 at 7:30 pm has been CANCELLED due to high winds & possible snow forecasted in the area. It will be rescheduled for 4/22, more information will be shared later. Thank you!
We have been made aware of an issue with incoming calls from AT&T cell phones to our system. This is a problem that other businesses are also encountering. The problem is between Frontier and AT&T; they are aware of it and addressing it. We don't have an ETA on the repair.

San Juan High School will conduct a multi-agency emergency drill today, Friday, November 22 beginning at 1:00 p.m. This drill will involve a full-scale emergency response, featuring law enforcement, rescue teams, and ambulances. You may notice increased activity from first responder vehicles in the area. Please do not attempt to approach San Juan High School during the drill.

Solar Eclipse
A Reminder to Bluff Eagle Families:
On Monday, April 8th, a total solar eclipse will occur over the southern United States. While Utah is
expected to experience a partial solar eclipse, out of respect and sensitivity to all cultures the following considerations are being made for our Bluff Eagle Students
OPTION 1: No change in schedule; attend regular school.
OPTION 2: Student attends school, eats lunch before 11:15 am, (lunch will be served at 10:45 am) and is then excused to a
quiet and still space inside the school until 1:45 pm.
OPTION 3: Students are excused (will be marked as excused in attendance system) from school and will be kept home.

“While we may not be affected within our Four Sacred Mountains, however, out of respect all activity stops. It's our way to respect the Holy People during the eclipse, along with the atmosphere and the cosmic order. We need to respect the order/cycle of nature and our atmosphere, and educate the younger generations as to why we do so.
It is part of our culture to respect the cycle of life, the path of the sun, as it is the source of all life. This is no great mystery but quite logical.
