Parents,

The evacuation order at Montezuma Creek Elementary has been lifted. Emergency responders and district staff have assessed the building and have deemed it safe to re-enter. School will resume as normal and dismiss at the regular time.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Montezuma Creek Elementary has been evacuated due to the presence of smoke in the building.

The safety and security of your child is our top priority. All students are safe and accounted for. We are actively responding to the situation and collaborating with emergency responders. At this time, we ask that parents stay where they are and remain available to receive updates and instructions if needed.

You will receive additional communications as soon as we have additional details and information.

School Closure Notice

Due to heavy rain, muddy conditions, and flooded roads, schools in Bluff, Montezuma Creek, and Monument Valley will be closed on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Students who reside in or around these communities and travel to schools in Blanding will be excused from attendance tomorrow due to unsafe travel conditions.

School bus routes serving Bluff, Montezuma Creek, Monument Valley, and surrounding areas, including routes that transport students to Blanding schools, will not operate tomorrow due to road conditions.

The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.

Thank you for your understanding.

Any students being checked out to participate in the HOCO parade today can only be checked out by the authorized adults that are listed in their Aspire account. For safety reasons, we cannot accept phone calls or notes. For attendance purposes, we are excusing students from 9:45 AM - 10:45 if they will be in the parade. Checkouts earlier than that will be considered an early checkout and students should come back immediately after the parade for the same reason.

We will be watching the WHS homecoming parade tomorrow morning. Please send your student with a bag to put their candy in. Plastic bags work great.
