Solar Panel being mounted

If you see a group of people with "Hearts Of America" and "Young Living" on their T-shirts, you will know they are the wonderful Angels here in Monument Valley providing solar power to light a room and charge chromebooks.   This is the third year Mylo Fowler, a Navajo from our community, has brought non-profit organizations to Monument Valley to help with some of the challenges families have been facing.  Misty Romero and Larry Holiday have been instrumental in taking care of the logistics of this project.  They've selected families and are making arrangements for the installations.  "They need lights to further their education, like reading a book and doing their homework.  They can be together as a family to play board games after dark, too," said, Misty.  Misty observed the joy the solar project brought the family and the teamwork displayed.  "Everyone came together to install the panel and lights and then shared Navajo fry bread with Spam.  It made me feel welcomed and part of the family."   Thank you, Mylo, Allie Plihal and Jackie Skinner, and all the volunteers for sharing your time and labor of love with us here in Monument Valley.
