Hi parents and Community
We wanted to bring to your attention a special event happening this weekend at our MVHS. Check out the flyer. We hope that you can find the time to support our community.

Ya’at’eeh TES Families!
As you know, tomorrow is College Career Readiness Day at the High School and TES is holding Parent Conferences (Academic Parent Teacher Teams) at the same time (12:30-5:30).
Buses will arrive one hour earlier tomorrow: 11:50 at TES and 12:00 at MVHS, as school will only be held half day.
TES Parent Conferences will run from 12:30-5:30. Parents are invited to come to school with or without your student to talk to their teacher about their abilities and skills they have mastered and goals they want to achieve this year. Research shows that when parents and teachers work together, their child’s success increases dramatically! We want you here! We welcome your suggestions and hope you will volunteer in the school or classroom this year!
We invite you to sit on the School Community Council which will meet on Thursday, 9/15 at 3:30 in the Cafeteria. We will elect our officers for the year (looks good on job applications) and will review school safety issues. Please come and share your concerns and suggestions.
Ahe’hee for your wonderful support this year!
HOMECOMING EVENTS:
Friday’s Parade- if you wish to enter a float, there is an application at the high school office. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 and the parade will start at 2:00 at Gouldings.Football game is at 7:00 against Whitehorse!

Hey families and our awesome community
We are so proud of our Cougars. We wanted to be sure and support them during their Homecoming week. Lets show our support by dressing up each day. Yes moms and dads, show your kiddos that you support Monument Valley HS and TES, and dress up too. Parents come on in and lets get your picture taken too. So here is a calendar of events for this week. Thanks to Vangi for putting this poster/flyer together. I'll see you all with my JAMAS on and ready to party. GOOO COUGARS

All students who were enrolled in San Juan School District in May are qualified for summer PEBT benefits without an application. If you can please get this information to your parents via your email/social media networks that would be great. There is no number to call, they MUST send an email for questions to the PEBT@utah.gov email. They do respond quickly.
These benefits have been issued onto the current EBT cards or the previous years PEBT cards. If people don't have their card they can do the following:
The jobs.utah.gov/covid19/pebt website has instructions on how parents can request a new card at the very bottom of the page. Schools should be referring parents to the website for all their questions unless we have referred the parent to contact the school.
If you need to replace your P-EBT card, are having trouble setting up your PIN, or need to update your mailing address:
Send an email to PEBT@utah.gov with the following information:
Subject Line: PEBT Card Issues
Body of the email:
Description of your issue
Full name for all children
Birthdates for all children
State Student ID or SSID for each child (this is not required but is most accurate to locate accounts; do not submit your child’s’ school lunch number.)
Your full mailing address including any apartment, lot, unit numbers and zip code
Your name as it is listed with the school
Your contact information

Dear Parent(s) and Stakeholders,
The San Juan School District Board of Education members are seeking information to help best serve its patrons. As a consequence of the Covid19 Pandemic, it was necessary to suspend the practice of rotating board meeting locations from school to school within the county and hold them in one location (the Boardroom at the District Office in Blanding) and broadcast them virtually to parents and stakeholders. A modern, efficient broadcast system has been purchased and installed in the Board Room in the District Office in Blanding. This system was purchased using ESSER Care funds to help facilitate effective public participation into the virtual board meetings. A rise in participation of patrons resulted. In the past five months, the lowest number of viewers has been 60 with the highest being over a 100. These numbers are substantially higher than participation numbers in meetings prior to the Pandemic.
Now with the Pandemic subsiding to some degree, the Board of Education is seeking some input regarding the best way to provide stakeholder access to board meetings in the future. Should board meetings return to a rotation of in-person meetings at schools where broadcasting effectiveness is less than ideal due to many factors, or should board meetings remain in the Board Room in Blanding and be broadcasted virtually to patrons utilizing the modern, effective system? The Board of Education is asking you to provide your input into the decision by completing the attached survey. Thank you so much for your valuable time.
