Hunt Children dressed up
On Tuesday, October 5, we had a wonderful School Community Council meeting thanks to our wonderful parents who were willing to participate for an hour after school. We elected our new officials for the year and reviewed the goals. We also discussed some of the upcoming activities for October and November. UNHS will hopefully partner with TES for a Trunk or Treat and future activities. Classes will be decorating their classroom doors and hallways. Parents will get to vote on the doors they like. Students will have parties in their classrooms, but due to restrictions, there will not be a parade this year. Watch for upcoming announcements for future fun!

Hello! SJSD has about $6 million as part of the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary Education Relief Fund, which is also known as ARP ESSER. The funds must be spent in a three year window and must address the impact of the pandemic and the immediate needs of scholars and families. We will hold a FACEBOOK Live event on Thursday, July 29, at 10:00 AM to inform and answer questions. SJSD is committed to providing approved ventilation systems and ensuring that each school is equipped with all necessary PPE and sanitizing items necessary in the classroom. The district is now looking for parent, scholar, educator, and community leader input about ways to spend this funding. The Survey will collect your ideas about additional hours for School Nurses, School Liaisons, Paraprofessionals in the classroom, paraprofessionals on the bus, Social Workers, along with possible increased mental health supports. You can also provide feedback regarding your student priorities for tutoring/mentoring programs, importance of wi-fi on busses for long bus routes, after school programs, summer school programs, extended learning opportunities, and online class options. Input Survey: https://sanjuandistrict.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7QdGTO49JMakwjI If you have additional input that is not reflected as part of the survey, please email Trevor directly at tolsen@sjsd.org. Ahe'hee!
