Parents and familiy members can help scholars to submit quality assignments by following these steps:
1. Record the due date and how to submit in your Datebook,
2. Use your very best effort,
3. Check your work,
4. Submit before the deadline, and whenever possible,
5. Resubmit using teacher feedback.
The next Eligibility Check is on Friday, December 15. Scholars will need to submit quality learning evidence before noon on Thursday, December 14. Remember that Formative Assessments (in and out of class practice, short assignments) done with lots of attention and effort prepare us for the Summative Assessments, which are 60% of the overall grade.

Girls' and Boys' Basketball play at Red Mesa today (December 5) starting at 3 pm. Any scholar checking Aspire is encouraged to look at the Upcoming Assignments in addition to Missing Assignments. Be sure to study for tests as they are Summative Assessments and worth 60% of the overall grade. MIBT Benefit Song & Dance with Cake Walk and Door Prize. Join us on Saturday, December 8, starting at 11 am.
Please visit with your scholar today (Dec 4) to learn the difference between Formative and Summative Assessments from them. Also, the Senior Class Parent Meeting is at 6:30 pm tonight (Dec 4) in the Library.
Wrestling Practice has been cancelled for today (Nov 30).
The Shiprock game times have changed for today (Nov 30). BBB plays at 4 pm and the GBB plays at 5:30 pm, both in the small gym.
Attention: It is by far better for scholars participating in Activities/Athletics to be proactive in their learning. Attempt to demonstrate learning by submitting all assignments early or at least by the due date.
Scholars will be informed by their Coach/Advisor when they are ineligible. Scholars then need to do the following:
1. Complete and submit all assignments.
2. Ask the teacher to update Aspire OR request the teacher send an email to Mr Gosney.
3. Email Mr Gosney yourself about the updated grade.
4. Speak to your Coach/Advisor and verify that eligibility has been updated.
Reminder: Eligibility Check is Friday, December 1. It takes effect on Monday, December 4. Scholars need to check Aspire daily and visit with Coach/Advisor.

Sub Training is Tuesday, November 28, at 3:30 pm in Room 163. People who are on the Sub List with SJSD and attend this training will become Preferred Subs at WHS.
Reminder: First Culture Night in a series is today (Nov 20) at 5 pm in the Auditorium. We will view and discuss Coyote Stories with an expert. Participants may also learn how to make Blue Corn Cookies! Also, No School for November 22-26.
